Task2:Some people think that schools should stop teaching students by using books, because students find them boring and that children can learn from films, TV, video games and computers instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
題目大意:
有的人認(rèn)為學(xué)??梢圆挥谜n本教學(xué)生,因?yàn)閷W(xué)生感覺(jué)很無(wú)聊,而且他們可以通過(guò)電影、電視、視頻游戲和電腦進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)。
思路分析:
課本和知識(shí)本身并不無(wú)聊,無(wú)聊的是我們接受知識(shí)的方式。舉一個(gè)大家熟知的例子:背單詞。只要你還有人性,我相信沒(méi)有一個(gè)人欣喜若狂:我愛(ài)背單詞!如果你身邊有這種人,說(shuō)明此人已經(jīng)喪失良知。不過(guò)這種人也是有的,只不過(guò)背單詞一直停留在以A開(kāi)頭的單詞中罷了。但是通過(guò)諧音記憶單詞,則可以達(dá)到事半功倍的效果(當(dāng)然,學(xué)術(shù)上還是要通過(guò)詞根詞綴理解記憶單詞)。比如:

The advantages of textbooks
1.Experts說(shuō):課本出版前都要經(jīng)過(guò)校對(duì)和審查,確保課本的專業(yè)性。
One primary advantage of using textbooks is that they are written and designed by experts in the topics discussed. Textbook writers keep up-to-date (最新的) with the research in a particular subject area, which means that teachers and students are presented with the most valuable information (課本把行業(yè)內(nèi)最有價(jià)值的信息提供給老師和學(xué)生) in that subject field. If teachers did not have these experts to rely on, they could miss some of the important advances in a particular area. Textbook writers can be viewed as a teacher’s and a student’s most valuable aid .
2.Students說(shuō):書(shū)本有助于學(xué)生快速查到想要的信息。
Textbooks have many advantages for students. First among them is the ease at which they allow students to find information. Textbooks are usually written with detailed contents pages and indexes that, if designed properly, can be used to quickly find what the student is looking for. Textbooks also provide structure for a student’s learning. Each chapter should have a logical flow, building on the knowledge acquired in previous chapters. The material in each chapter is also usually presented in a similar design, which means the student knows exactly how to approach each topic as it is presented.

There are also advantages for teachers who use textbooks. For young teachers they can be especially helpful because the material and structure of lessons is often very detailed, which means that teachers do not have to spend a lot of time coming up with novel lesson ideas (新穎的教學(xué)理念). The information for each chapter or lesson is also usually presented in a straightforward, chronological way, and most textbooks will come with supplementary teacher material that spells out the teaching procedures that should be used for each lesson.
4.Supplementary Materials 現(xiàn)在很多課本都提供光盤(pán)或者音頻供學(xué)生參考學(xué)習(xí)。
Another advantage of textbooks is that many now come with supplementary materials that complement the lessons a teacher uses. These supplementary materials could be DVDs that have video and audio clips of information relating to the topic of study, companion websites that provide additional information or links to other related web pages or study guides that present students with additional questions relating to the topic (細(xì)節(jié)化描述). These supplementary materials allow those students who learn in different ways to find their way to the topics of study and achieve learning success.
The advantage of learning through multimedia
1. 提高解決問(wèn)題的能力:Improved problem solving
A large percentage of the human brain dedicates itself to visual processing. Thus, using images, video and animations alongside a text stimulates the brain. Student attention and retention increase. Under these circumstances, in a multimedia learning environment, students can identify and solve problems more easily compared to the scenario where teaching is made possible only by textbooks.
2.獲得大量信息:Access to a vast variety of information
With computers, tablets, smartphones and the internet, students are today better equipped than ever to search and find the information they need. A study revealed that 95% of students who have access to internet, use it to search for online information. Sharing the information and participating in class discussions are done in a more confident way when access to information is as easy as today.
3.探索世界:World exploration
With the help of multimedia children can explore and learn about places they would never been to. In a geography class, students can explore different cities of the world, the tallest mountains and the most dangerous jungles. In a science class, space and planets exploration is now possible. In a biology class, the dissection of rare animals and different habitats exploration are like a walk in a park for students benefiting of a multimedia learning environment.
All together, multimedia learning environments have a direct effect on learning and even on growing as a person. An effect that differs and cannot be achieved as easy whilst using traditional education materials. Therefore, it is no wonder the edtech business is increasing and schools desire more and more to create multimedia learning environments for their students.
